Free guided tours and tastings by reservation

Participating in an educational tour concerning the Balsamic Vinegar means immerging yourself in a real and actual sensory experience.
 
Here, tourists, accompanied by expert guides, can visit free of charge our rooms in which we aged our precious Traditional Balsamic vinegar of  Modena and understand the different steps of the product aging inside the wooden barrels. 
Here, it is possible to taste the best of the production branded Malpighi and to be guided to discover the special composition of the bouquet of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP

Our educational tours are free of charge, upon reservation and open to small and big groups, in Italian or foreign language (English or French).
They take place: 

  • At the Balsamic Museum "Taste&Tour" in via Vignolese 1.487 in Modena (300 metres away from the highway exit Modena sud)

  • At our showroom located in Modena in Piazza Roma, one of the most beautiful and suggestive squares in our town, in front of the Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace)


Their duration can range from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of one hour and they include:  

  • Guided tours into the rooms in which we aged our precious Traditional Balsamic vinegar of Modena production techniques: it is here that this sensory experience begins, in these magic places that, thanks to a microclimate that is hot in summer and cold in winter, house the barrels, made of the most precious woods, where the product slowly ripens. Here, our visitors can learn the secrets that the human factor elaborated and passed down developing the history of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, of the recipes and preparation methods. Thanks to the exposition of operating batteries, it is possible to learn the pouring and reinforcements techniques. 
  • Free guided tasting of all products in the Acetaia Malpighi Collection: Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Dark Dressings, White Dressings, Flavored Dressings, Balsamic Vinegar Pearls, and delicacies such as Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Chocolates and Saba (cooked grape must). The tasting is a 'vertical tasting,' designed to gradually accustom the palate to the many flavors and tastes of the Balsamic Vinegar, moving from the youngest to the oldest vinegar. At the end of the visit, it is possible to purchase the products from the Collection.

 

All products in the Collection originate from raw materials of excellent quality: the typical Modenese grapes from the Malpighi estate. The grapes from the vineyards undergo soft and slow crushing, followed by cooking in an open vat over direct heat. The result of these first processing steps is the must, which is the base and essence of all Acetaia Malpighi's products, possessing unique organoleptic characteristics."
