Gold for Malpighi Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
Acetaia Malpighi has been named among the best food and beverage producers globally this year, winning the prestigious Great Taste award (with 2 Gold stars) for its Balsamic Vinegar of Modena "Oro." Out of 4,340 products submitted to the competition's rigorous blind tasting process, Malpighi's Balsamic Vinegar of Modena "Oro" was described as "excellent, incredibly dense and full-bodied in texture" at the world's most coveted food and beverage awards. Made from grape must from the family's vineyards at the Tenuta del Cigno farm and wine vinegar aged in oak barrels, this Balsamic Vinegar is characterized by a high density of 1.34. It has a velvety and balanced flavor, and a round, full aroma. It is a 100% natural product, free of caramel, colorants, or additives.
Acetaia Malpighi's Balsamic Vinegar of Modena "Oro" received two gold stars in the competition with the following comments: "An excellent Vinegar, incredibly dense and full-bodied in texture, with a dark, inky tone. The nose offers a refreshing effect. The palate is complex, with a citrusy and woody depth; the flavor of the grape is perceptible with a well-balanced sweetness. Well-balanced, it presents an excellent aroma with some complexity. Intense and round, with no added caramel or other adulterants. An excellent Balsamic Vinegar."
Massimo Malpighi, President of Acetaia Malpighi, commented: "Ours is a family company where passion, strong values, and ancient tradition have led to excellent results, as this recognition demonstrates. We are therefore proud to add the prestigious black and gold Great Taste badge of honor to our Balsamic Vinegar of Modena "Oro," which, by the way, is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a new look this year. Great Taste is the most respected accolade for taste and quality in the food industry, and it's particularly exciting to receive it in the first year of judging to take place in Italy as part of Great Taste in Italy."
The Great Taste Awards Recognized as a seal of excellence by food lovers and retailers, the 'Great Taste' accreditation program organized by the 'Guild of Fine Food' values taste above all else. Every product in the competition is blind-tasted, and all packaging is removed so it cannot be identified before undergoing a rigorous, multi-layered judging process. This year, the judging took place over 110 days, with a panel of over 500 experts testing the entries. The selection included food and beverages from 110 different countries worldwide, including, for the first time, a judging session in Italy as part of Great Taste in Italy.
